NOCTURNAL LISTENING
WORKSHOP BY CONNY FRISCHAUF | MØNTAGE CAMP 2026
Within the workshop we are going to explore the immediate sonic environment of the night through situated listening practices. Without additional lights and without recorders our tools are our ears and the bond of the group. In the new moon twilight and darkness we will walk, we will stay and we will listen. Rather than trying to make immediate sense of sonic information, this workshop asks for presence and attention. It understands experience and the collective listening (and spatial) memory as an outcome. The workshops closure is defined by a slow coming back through a writing session.
The workshop will be guided by Conny Frischauf through whisperings.

Conny Frischauf is a sound and visual artist based in Vienna, Austria. Experimentally exploring exclusionary politics of language and narration Conny is interested in decentralized forms of relationship, encounter, and resistance.
Their practice is grounded in listening-sounding as a spatial and situated method, with a long-term, research-based engagement. Moving between installation, (sound) performance, publication, self-organized formats, hosting, walking and process-oriented frameworks, the work is informed by non-linear ways of engaging with how and by whom knowledge is produced, mediated, distributed, and withheld.
Conny studied transdisciplinary arts at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and since 2024, they have been running ‚Sedimente‘, a platform that slowly inter-layers text, sound and space.

Your festival ticket includes access to all workshops.
Workshop spots are limited and must be reserved in advance via email to klubmontagesks@gmail.com.
Lectures are open to everyone and doesn’t have to be reserved.
Choose up to two workshops. In that way you still have enough time and space for your own experiments, research projects, and spontaneous collaborations.
Participation in the workshops is not possible without a festival ticket.
